I Can See Clearly

Finally, after weeks of drowning in smoke from the mountains surrounding Reno, the view of the park has been cleared of all the smoke. Parents no longer have to worry about their children getting lung cancer as they play outside. The sun is no longer bloodshot red from all the chemicals roaming in the air. For me, it means no more headaches or migraines. To the people that are playing a fall sport, it means that they actually get to play for the first time in two weeks. For the first time in a while we can see what is in front of us for a good mile and a half. No more accidents with the excuse being "I didn't see him because of the smoke". The best way that the smokey sky should be cleared up, is by rain (that is why I named this post after an old song).
It might seem strange how much depth I went into with the park, but this assignment requires me to observe something of my interest for this first semester of school. My whole class along with the English class at Sparks High School were instructed to take notes and blog about changes of our subject weekly.

  1. I really liked the name of this post. It goes well with what you wrote and also adds some humor into it! lol. I agree with you, now that the smoke is gone, there are so many things we can do more outside. There is no more excuse of when an accident happen because of how nice and clear it is outside.

  2. Nice post, I really like how you said many things with a short amount of words; that's something hard to do for some people. The one thing I did enjoy about the smoke was the sun (loved it when you said "bloodshot") because I love the color red and it doesn't burn your eyes as much, but the smoke did. I feel bad that you had headaches and migraines during the bad weather. I am really happy that the smoke is all gone now, and I'm sure everyone else is too. I can't wait to read more.

  3. I really liked how you referred your post to a name of the song that reminded you of what was going on with the smoke. I agree with you in how now that the smoke is gone we have the opportunity to actually enjoy a day outside with no worries. Do you ever wonder why smoke contains certain things that may cause headaches, lung cancer, and all these horrible stuff with our body?

  4. I really liked how you thought out the name of your post and related it to something everyone can understand. I also like how you described why the smoke being gone was good for different people in different situations and not just a limited group. I look forward to finding out what else you discover about the park.

  5. The park is a great place to observe. There is so much to discover. I liked how you are making a relationship bettween music and the rain. The smoke was a big deal. I wonder if there are any side effects to any of the wildlife at the park due to the smoke? Maybe the plants are dry or the grass is dry.

  6. I was happy too when the smoke finally cleared up. And it sucked cause I couldn't do anything but watch t.v. And yeah no more worrying anymore about contracting a sickness that can kill you. Just happy thoughts
